Retomando um velho tema: moeda e valor no capitalismo
Resumo
Money and value are traditional subjects of economic thought. The aim of this
paper is to understand inflation as an outcome of the relation between these subjects.
It starts from a concept of money and an interpretation of the social genesis of money
from the very begining of human society and the formation of social rules. Following
Marx, it considers the law of value as the regulator of economic life under capitalism.
As money is the agent of the law of value, the forms of money are determinants of
the efectiveness of this law. The rules of price formation as well as those of economic
agents' income determination depend on the forms of money. That is the source of
today's inflation.
