Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership: uma agenda para a padronização do comércio internacional e um desafio para o comércio exterior brasileiro
Resumo
A Transatlantic Trade and Investiment Partnership (TTIP) é uma proposta de acordo de comércio e investimento que busca facilitar a eliminação de barreiras não tarifárias no fluxo comercial de bens e serviços e o incremento dos investimentos entre os Estados Unidos e a União Europeia, por meio de reconhecimento mútuo de procedimentos e harmonização de legislações. Neste artigo, avalia-se a emergência da TTIP no contexto recente das relações comerciais entre esses dois atores mundiais e, de forma complementar, procura-se evidenciar pontos controversos envolvendo a implementação da TTIP e os seus impactos gerais sobre o comércio exterior brasileiro.

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) is a trade and investment agreement proposal which seeks to facilitate the elimination of non-tariff barriers in the commercial flow of goods and services and to increase the investments between the United States (US) and the European Union (EU) through a mutual recognition of procedures and harmonization of legislations. In this article, we evaluate the emergence of the TTIP in the current trade relations between the US and the EU and we, additionally, try to highlight controversial issues involving the implementation of the TTIP and its general impacts on the Brazilian foreign trade.
