Desenvolvimento local: novas dinâmicas na acumulação e regulação do capital
Resumo
This article shows how the local development strategy transformed itself into
the key to productive re-structuring processes in the 80s and 90s, mainly in the
Southern European economies. Local industrialization and local economic policies
are forms of accumulation and regulation of production which favor productivity
increases and economic efficiency and, therefore, contribute to the re-structuration
of de productive system. Both phenomenae attend to the logic of economic cycles of
long duration, for which reason the local development strategy should be interpreted
as an institutional and political response to challenges represented by
changes in the capital accumulation model.
