Mobilidade social e relação com a condição de origem: o caso de mulheres em movimentos sociais “rurais”

Resumo

O texto apresenta uma análise das relações que indivíduos com mobilidade social ascendente estabelecem com sua origem social. Trata-se especificamente de modalidades de relações com a origem de mulheres militantes em sindicatos e movimentos de agricultores. A partir de resultados de entrevistas estruturadas e semiestruturadas, a abordagem leva em conta a condição social de origem, os trajetos dos indivíduos considerados e de como a apresentam. A militância nessas organizações implica mobilidade social sem ruptura simbólica com a condição de origem. Assim, a militância permite uma modalidade de mobilidade social bastante específica, com a manutenção da identidade de origem, e o estabelecimento de uma série de compromissos com ela.

Social mobility and its relationship with the origin conditions: the case of women in rural social movements

Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the relationships that individuals with upward social mobility establish with their social origin. It is an approach of forms of relations with the social origin of women militants in farmers' movements. Using the results of structured and semi-structured interviews, the analysis takes into account the social origins and trajectory of the individuals considered and how they present that. The militancy in these organizations implies social mobility without symbolic rupture with the condition of origin. Thus, militancy allows a very specific modality of social mobility, with the maintenance of identity of origin, and the establishment of a series of commitments with it.
